
How to Apply
The call for applications for ESSA 2026 is now open. Please follow these steps to submit your application:
- Sign in or create an account.
- Once signed in, visit the ESSA 2026 Home Page.
- Click on the button "Submit Application" at the top of the page.
Application Period
The application period for the 2026 edition of the European Social Services Awards is between 7 April and 15 June 2026.
Who can apply?
We welcome applications from all public authorities and third-sector providers working in social services planning, design, delivery, and evaluation.
The Research and Evaulation for Social Services Award also welcomes applications from research institutions.
The Public-Private Partnership in Social Services Award also welcomes applications from private companies involved in social services.
The Leadership in Social Services Award accepts applications nominating an individual.
Applications should demonstrate the following key criteria:
The project is relevant for their selected award category
The project is innovative for their respective context/environment
The project includes an evaluation and has a positive impact
Shortlisted organisations must register a minimum of two representatives per organisation to attend the Awards ceremony and cover their participation costs.
How to submit your application
A maximum of one application per category is permitted. Each organisation may submit a maximum of two projects overall (use one submission entry per project).
In addition, organisations may submit a nomination for one person in the Leadership in Social Services Award category.
Applications are submitted via an online questionnaire in which you may also include:
Photographs showing evidence of the practice
Impact data, press clippings, external endorsements, or other relevant materials produced in the project
The deadline to apply for ESSA is 15 June 2026.
Starting from 1 June, applicants may be contacted to address any incomplete applications.

Special consideration is given to initiatives that:
Are scalable and transferable, offering a model that can inspire similar innovations across Europe
Demonstrate innovative approaches, including co-design and person-centred care and support
Demonstrate measurable impact, with evidence of improved outcomes for service users and communities
Demonstrate effective coordination between professionals and services
